This is a handmade, custom insulated tumblr cup. Each of these specialty made, hand crafted cups is made to order just for you, with your own favorite brands. They are each a true work of art. Like a work of art, in order to make one there is a collaborative process involved.

Step 1: Gather your favorite cigar labels. A fully covered tumblr cup requires about 100 cigar labels. These labels must not be bent or creased- they must be flat and smooth. This is because of the process required to make a custom cup.

Step 2: Find a cup you love. It can be brand new, or the one you currently have. Yeti cups are encouraged as it’s the gold standard in insulated cups, but any insulated cup without a handle will do. Make sure your cup is clean and dry.

Step 3: Place your cigar labels inside your cup. Seal the lid onto the cup to keep the labels secure A gentle tape or rubber band is recommended to prevent the lid from popping off during shipment. If you would like, you can add foam insulation to the inside of your cup to ensure safe delivery of your cigar labels.

Step 4: Mail your cup and your labels. Upon purchase, you will be emailed the address to send the cup.

FAQ

How long do they take to make?

Each cup takes about 3 weeks to create. Return shipping back to you is free in the continental United States. Alaska and Hawaii will have additional shipping charges. We do ship internationally, but the buyer pays for shipping, tariffs, taxes or extra duties.

what types of cups can i use?

Any straight double walled cup can be used for these. Double walled is important, as you don’t want your labels to experience water damage from the inside out. Sizes do not matter, as long as you provide enough labels to cover the surface area.

How will I know I have enough cigar labels?

A trick to determine this is to wrap your cup with a piece of paper and trim it to size, then lay out your labels on the paper. See if it covers the entire surface of the paper plus an extra 20% more labels. If it does, you are good to go. If you have extras, that’s even better. Just be sure your labels are not bent or creased- a creased cigar label is an unusable cigar label.

Can i buy a cigar label cup without sending in a cup or the labels?

You can check HERE to see if there are any available pre-made cigar cups. These are rare, as it takes about a hundred cigar labels to make one cup. If you want to be put on a list to be the first notified when a new cigar label pre-made cup is created, email bill@empireofsmoke.com.

what if i damage my cup?

These cups are customer favorites and can find themselves in some pretty tricky situations, like one cup that got a bad case of road rash when it fell off a motorcycle at 50 MPH. Thankfully, since we put three coats of epoxy resin on each cup, we were able to sand, repair and redcoat the cup. The customer was thrilled. A refinishing of a damaged cup is $40.

CAN THEY GO IN THE DISHWASHER?

It’s not recommended. The heat of the dishwasher can turn the epoxy white- and you want to see the beautiful cigar labels underneath.
